Acorns
Thoughts dance below a moon
-lit stage as shadows are often
fueled by the penetrating gaze.
Lonely grey squirrel pulled the curtain
strings revealing an acorn audience splitting
lively to witness what endangered feel,
open arterials flowing like the gutted
sacrificed life-giving white-tail.
Cycled nourishment wake is released
from the breaching trout for the pure
to face down into the trough and feed
digesting a contagious virus
capable of sun rises.

Let's Think of Each Other
In the east we will rise, casting spring renewal
Breathe; I will fill your lungs as you blossom
surrounding me with pure vibrancy.
With the bright sound of a cardinal
I will greet you every morning.
Carrying forth, one great star hangs
to soothe our souls, emitting gleams
of reminders, bringing life to a green
flourish. Let me be the perspiration
that trails along your soft skin as you wave
with a fierce feather floating towards earth.
I will smile at you with subtle warming
colors that reflect in your eyes as we turn,
away from summer the days grow shorter
returning kind gestures with every retiring leaf.
I comfort you within the darkness, lips meeting
with the crisp fresh air establishing an interest
in the bleak completion of a full rotation.
I will follow your path with every fresh layer
of white as I trek through the nourishment
you lay before me in the west, as we set,
let's think of each other.

Germination
Nestled in a woodland fortress,
I explored the soil in solitude.
Mind soaring over plentiful green
and scattered wildflowers.
Studying the terrain as one
prepares for blindness.
Remember to cross the carpet
of moss and pass the scent of mint,
just beyond the toad grove you enter
a protective retreat of spruce confusion.
Crafted skill of a fresh rain
stream to smooth clay and stone
or design the foundation for which I stand
a calm yet fierce erosion.
Not a swallow too high,
Grub too deep,
I planted my soul,
The earth to keep.

Infidel
I tried - forgive my fading ember.
For you I'd face the fire and sulfur,
But all I saw was languishing ember.
A sudden cold rain has enlivened me,
Extinguishing what's left of the ember.
This canoe was not meant for open sea,
As it now lies submerged with the ember.
Fire reborn, visible light you feel,
Please accept my faith among the ember.

Nineteen Eleven
I stared at the red soil –
feeling accomplished and proud.
Ironic to see death in soon growth,
a sense of gratitude emitted
from my natural surroundings.
One-hundred years of faithful
service perfectly exemplified
in an ominous single-action.
The doves fluttered at the crack
and rumble of a wise thoroughbred.
With a rooted grip, I leveled the sites
like a planted field of symmetry.
The powerful figure trembled
like a kicked hound at the smooth
racking of a maintained slide.
My poise remained as balanced as
a peregrine with the weighted
click of seven horsemen.
John Browning’s most distinct breed
solidly clutched in my hand.
Canola, soy, corn. Wheat is next
to be destroyed by greed.
I will enforce the laws of nature
with pure fertilization, planting a permanent
seed in our land of excess.

Rising Dissipation
While surrounded by dark, vivacious warmth glistens my skin.
Torrid souls blindly rise, an endless escape of consuming heat.
Haphazard crackling inspirits the muted stars watchful gaze.
I prod the bloom of destructive freedom with fieried patience.
Instantaneous bursts of firefly animation dance in glossy eyes
igniting the brush of stressful dampening like dried kindling.
The charred perception within me is released with
every swarming death of fallen life – Behind –
the cold damp air lingers amongst the nearly
spring chorus greeting the night.
I stoke and study the thriving
design, while the stalker
waits for the vitality
to dwindle.
"We must uncenter our minds from ourselves. We must unhumanize our views a little and become confident as the rock and ocean that we are made from." - Robinson Jeffers

Joining the Bears
Finally leaving that damp and dark
cave as often left before.
The yearly trip to despondency with
return, pure and enlivened.
Distending hoarseness, my insides out
scratched, weary, no comfort.
Time for a change, dropping clear and
refreshing, growing forth the
living inspiration left for months leaning
against the dark cave door.
The lingering aphotic drab has shaded
engrossing vibrant growth.
Seeing flourishing infancy, and abandoned
art under dawning hands.
Precipitate and return my downstream flow
of idealism, for now I see
the beauty in hibernation.

Kindly Embedded
Remember,
as fissures portray past pressure,
the lightness once easily endured.
Gentle carpet beneath callused tread
as the echoing sound reminds of soon
warming embrace from mother's hands.
Kindly replace the kneeling creature
as left undisturbed in its place.
As you, tornado of ivory, never worry
to be late, swiftly return to base.
Adventure to approach in abundance,
revolving in semesters with nature's tutor.
Remember,
as body aches, and society obscures
like the cloud once favored, the way
the tin rings in soothing symphony.
Your best friend for years, pure endear,
rushed through autumn fallen, until
her time too came to be near.
With patience, again the postured life
of spring will renew the green begin.
As you cut, and scrape, and escape the
burdens until age takes root, the
fertile surroundings: forever your muse.
Heres to you.

Climactic Embrace
Like a bad love story you know it when you see it.
That’s the one. Perfectly casting that inviting path
to it’s beautiful crevices. Maybe rough, or smooth
in many tones like the beauty of a birch. This isn’t
read in profitable parchment, or spoken in institution.
It is felt. Aristotelian within which we cannot explain,
maybe a transplant from that spirit we think we know.
It desires to be held with arms outreached, flourishing
it’s insulating warmth. Creating beautiful rigidness.
Watch it soak. Pulling you into it’s soulful base.
Ignoring second thoughts puts you against it’s tempting
surface, feeling life travel through your fingertips. Listen
closely. Ear resting on it’s outer, so much alive on the
inside as much as out. Reach and feel a protrusion.
Pulling yourself up and into that desirable place, far
away from distraction. Feel your head develop liquid,
as life is recycled amongst it. Travel up, deeper into the
cooling warmth. That last step perhaps the hardest,
always sooner than expected as pace is hardly determined.
Breathe in the freshness of the loving air, holding on tight.
Enduring relaxation in the towering embrace, a perspective
achieved in the red-tail’s place. Like love at first sight,
some which stand before cannot resist a climb.

Enlightening Dark
How easily I can compare thee.
Halos of green, cleansed breath at first sight.
To the comforting shade of a willow tree.
A firm base in which stands, equally free.
Visibly lucid, constructed with sheer might.
How easily I can compare thee.
A structure so pure of flowing strands, no need for one’s plea.
As the dark deepens, stars reveal bright,
To the comforting shade of a willow tree.
As this head rests, the lasts thoughts marquee.
Willows roots thicken, planted throughout night.
How easily I can compare thee.
To such eminent presence, a profusion of esprit.
My first thought after rise, perched red tail, inspiration takes flight.
To the comforting shade of a willow tree.
Eager to give, a positive bloom to foresee.
To continue this growth, would be sure to incite.
How easily I can compare thee,
To the comforting shade of a willow tree.
Be inspired. Happy Valentines Day.

Intorsion
The forest was unnaturally bright, welcoming.
Yet only with the cautious movement of skepticism.
Entering, one foot to another, a close width path forces
an increase in unusual awareness. Traveling deeper
in an addictive nature, shadows of the wilderness tend to
engulf me whole, while unknown growth distorts what is left of a clear thought.
Deeper. Deeper, as my eyes struggle to find a hint of that warming light from above.
The darkness prevails, like a short winter’s day,
as a mono painted cloud hides the demanding element.
My pace becomes steadier with eagerly placed steps, barely
maintaining balance over the rooted surface.
Adjusting eyes are forced to focus on a small wooden footbridge ahead.
Stumbling. Running, the crossing is met. Eager feet creak over
the neglected, tarred structure to its unconfident peak.
Without patience, I peer over the rough, splintered rails, and glance
into the murky water. No eyes return a familiar stare in the eerily calm liquid.
An eternity seems to float by as my hurried arrival is accompanied by a swift exit.
Pacing further, mind distraught, not returning glance at the now long past bridge.
Heavily weighted questions begin to tire my overwhelmed mind, and body.
Developing fear, as the unknown designs created by my lack of mindfulness
become clever distractions of an evil hand, only to be fixated on one’s self.
Furiously shaking, the conscious appears, and reappears as often as blinking sight.
The blurry surroundings remind me of my sprinting. Heavy breathing. Pores venting.
Like a trial by fire. Spring-cleaning.
As quickly as a longed dry forest ignites, the burst is intense, accurate,
and adequately liberating. Legs are numb, rate is moderate,
as the color appears ahead. No longer is the clouded darkness a focus as the vivid green
floods any doubting perception. As the senses begin to clear, my internal roots
continue to rush pure blood through lethargic muscles.
I have reached the clearing, the beautiful, and breathtaking clearing.
I transcend the dark forest, and stand amongst the infant dandelions,
slowly breathe in the vast beauty, and endless inspiration now surrounding me.
Golden rays descend onto a nearby spring, glittering.
Cautiously, I approach, welcomed by leaping splashes.
I gaze into the organic mirror decorated with dancing gold and resting green,
recognizing at last a returning figure with a gesture long-forgotten,
... and smile.

Allied Victory
Migratory birds instinctually find their way.
Some develop content, ignoring the natural, and losing focus,
then you have to deal with their shit.
Surrounded by a welcoming flock, a bird
is maintaining development. A murmur
in focus is quickly regained as the lustrous
creatures spread their wings,
balanced on a wind of support.
Be keen of the flock, as a bird may never
know when the next hard flight will be
taken.

Rivkah
The river intensifies with the breath of fresh air that is your smile;
Comforting hidden green gems. Organic, and rightfully so is a prayer for snow.
Waves of dark cast a light of endless thought.
A pure convergence as intwined birch plants warmth, and clarity.

28670
The night chorus weeps softly
Gentle mists diffuse through time
Core is cool. Half-moon slightly
Sink deeper, dark nightly falls
Soon perhaps flutter, quick symmetry
Scent fills the void. Half-moon slightly
Remember the seemingly minuscule things in life that bring peace of mind, past and present. Spring peepers, witch hazel, and hummingbirds... I love you, Mom.

Trepidation
Clearly becoming pure in thought,
my inspiration as soon to taught.
As the heart decides paths from mere tangles,
the burn grows for a deeper substance.
Substance from unknown truths.
Waiting for rays that may never reveal,
a tell-tale divide between the means to an end.
Only wish; for release from weighted synovial.
What will become of such lifting,
as clockwise rotations develop fear as true
as the bare natural whispers under it's own kind.
My inspiration is near, the only time, my time is clear.

Granite
Out-right placement on balance-beam paths, lead to pure and meaningful thought.
Feeling birth into collapsed veins, as cleansed life enters with every stride, and pull. Overwhelming beauty, and endless ponders elaborate through the most original soundtrack known to man. Ideas flow, struggling to lift, as gravity keeps the firm grounded life closer to earth. At this point nothing is more alive than the beautiful, powerful surroundings.
Clearest of minds originate in such growth, to grow further with saturation of true meaning. Continuing to travel with vibrant kindred sight, navigating past blazed trail, Wise timber act as mentors, and illuminate images of life, and death in pure selflessness.
The message is plentiful to willing ears:
To appreciate.
To educate.
To construct unobstructed views on hidden paths.
Reconnect with what is given and surely
rewards are so.
I feel it is important to not take for granted what is available all around us. Often we are rushed, and encapsulated within our own daily stresses, and ignore the beauty in nature that surrounds us. Take the time to slow down, turn off the television, give the computer a much-needed rest, or mute the cell phone, and take in this therapeutic beauty. More importantly, include someone you care about, and enjoy the fresh air together… The rewards are endless; as optimism, pure thought, happiness, and ideas flood the soul, and cloud the pessimistic views of the past… all who wander are not lost.
